“Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling you to follow me. Pray for those who do not pray and do not want peace and joy, which only the Most High can give. May your souls be united in the joy of expectancy and your heart will be filled with peace. You will be convinced, little children, that all will be good and that God will bless all; because the good that you give will return to you, and joy will enfold your heart because you are with God and in God. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (With ecclesiastical approval)
Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling you to follow me. Pray for those who do not pray and do not want peace and joy, which only the Most High can give.
When you go to a large store like Walmart, you often see young mothers shopping with small children holding their hands. The interesting observation is that the moment the mother briefly lets go of the child's hand to choose or grab an item, the child's attention is immediately captured by something else, and they toddle off in that direction. Then, the mother goes over again, brings the child back, takes their hand, and they move together to the next item.
Every time I see this scene, I more deeply realize why the Blessed Mother calls us ‘little children’ in her messages. To be little means to possess purity, but it also means to be immature and lacking in discernment.
In this month’s message, the Blessed Mother says, “Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling you to follow me.” This statement implies that we are still not fully following her.
If so, what are we following now? What is capturing our attention, and tempting our hearts and minds? Is it God, the Blessed Mother, prayer, and other holy and heavenly things? Or is it material possessions, people, or worldly things?
Whose hand are we holding now? The hand of the Blessed Mother, or the hand of Satan? If we are currently allowing our hearts to be stolen by material things, worldly affairs, evil, sin, and Satan, and are running toward them, we must regain our composure and look toward the Blessed Mother who is reaching out her hand to us. We must take her hand and follow where she leads.
Only then can we recognize that this is a time of grace for us. Even if God gives us a time of grace, if we do not follow the Blessed Mother and turn toward the God who is giving us that time of grace, that time of grace will be invisible to our eyes.
The Blessed Mother says, “Pray for those who do not pray and do not desire the peace and joy that only the Most High can give.” Let us pray that all the children loved by the Blessed Mother, including ourselves, may pray, desire the peace and joy that only the Most High can give, and follow the Blessed Mother. Sincerely accepting her messages in our hearts and putting them into practice—that is the very path to following the Blessed Mother.
May your souls be united in the joy of expectancy and your heart will be filled with peace.
Today is Tuesday, November 25th. Two days ago, on November 23rd, we celebrated the last Sunday of the liturgical year: the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. The coming Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent, which marks the beginning of a new liturgical year. It seems the Blessed Mother had this liturgical moment in mind when she said, “May your souls be united in the joy of expectancy.”
The Korean word for Advent, 'Dae-rim' (待臨), literally means 'waiting for the coming.' Advent is a time of remembering the first coming of the Savior Jesus Christ (Christmas) and, furthermore, preparing for and awaiting His second coming (the Second Advent), which will fulfill our salvation. During this Advent season, we earnestly await the Lord. Since He will return to complete the salvation He accomplished on earth for us, we cannot but wait for Him with joy.
Our thoughts must always be directed toward Him who is to come again, and precisely because our focus is on Him, our souls must be united with the Lord.
We need various things to live our daily lives. So, we work hard, earn money, and strive. However, all these things are fleeting and can never be the ultimate purpose of our lives.
The purpose of our lives must be to place the Lord first in our lives here on earth and live according to His will, so that we may enjoy eternal life in heaven. To achieve this, our souls must always be united with the Lord. Only then will our hearts be filled with true peace.
You will be convinced, little children, that all will be good and that God will bless all.
We all wish for everything to go well. However, for everything to go well, there is only one precondition: union with the Lord. It is only when we are one with the Lord, when we abide in Him, that everything is properly accomplished. That is why Jesus told us:
“Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (Jn 15:4-5)
Nevertheless, we often forget these words of the Lord and try to accomplish everything solely through our own human strength, will, and plans, apart from the Lord. Yet, ultimately, all such attempts fail to be fully realized.
For everything we do to succeed, we must abide in God, follow His will, and walk the path He teaches us. Only by doing so will God’s blessing remain with us, and all our endeavors will prosper.
Therefore, we need to engrave the following words of the Psalmist deeply into our hearts:
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” (Ps 1:1-3)
Because the good that you give will return to you, and joy will enfold your heart because you are with God and in God. Thank you for having responded to my call.
If we look at the Book of Genesis, before God created man, He made all things in the world and gave them to humanity. He prepared all the environment and conditions necessary for man to live without any condition, freely (gratuitously).
Since man was created in the likeness of God who gives everything so generously, he, too, must give his own to others without reserve. He must become a being who bestows goodness, just like the good God.
We should not give reluctantly out of reluctance, but rather, we should live a life where we bestow our goods upon those who need them as an act of returning to God what we ourselves received freely from Him.
The good we bestow, even without the slightest intention of receiving anything in return, is bound to come back to us as good in ways we could never imagine. Even if it does not return to us in this lifetime, we can be content with the fact that we have already stored up treasures in heaven.
How sweet is the message of the Blessed Mother when she says: “Because you are with God and in God, joy will embrace your heart.” To be with God and in God is a source of joy and happiness that cannot be compared to anything else. When she says that joy will embrace our hearts, how can we not be deeply moved?
Alcohol, drugs, physical pleasure, money, or anything else in this world can never make us truly happy. The joy they offer is merely temporary, and often brings deeper sadness and anxiety afterward. The Blessed Mother presents a simple, yet most profound way for us to be joyful always: that is, for us to always be with God and in God.
The Blessed Mother teaches us the direction and shows us the way we should walk, regardless of the situation we are currently in. However, she never forces us. She respects our choices and expresses gratitude when we spontaneously respond to her call. Since our choice and response are ultimately for our own good, why would the Blessed Mother thank us when we answer her call? It is because she is our Mother who loves us with the love of God, and we are her beloved children.
